Music Ministry

The Music Ministry here at First Presbyterian Church continues to be an exciting and active branch of the entire ministry of the church.
The Ministry consists of 6 musical ensembles: The Chancel Choir, Joyful Noise Choir, Jubilation Ringers, Celebration Ringer, Children’s Chimes and fpi (f-irst p-resbyterian i-nstrumentalists), each of which is comprised of extremely dedicated, hard working volunteers under the leadership of Music Director Ann Salmons.
Our accompanist for the Chancel Choir and Sunday Worship Service is Nancy Kruckeberg.
The Chancel Choir sings at 10:00 worship each Sunday morning and provides special musical programs during the year. This choir practices every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and is open to those high school age through adult who love to sing praises to our Lord. Photo Gallery
The Joyful Noise is our children’s choir consisting of children Kindergarten through 5th grade. The children practice once a week at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays during the school year and sing once a month in Worship, at special occasions and occasionally during the Wednesday Family Night Program. The accompanist for The Joyful Noise is Lavon Sutton. Each member of The Joyful Noise wears a special stole with his robe that has his name on one side and a Christian/Musical symbol representing each year he is a member on the other side. These stoles are presented to the children when they graduate from the choir. Photo Gallery
The Jubilation Ringers (adult bell choir) consists of adults who play each month during worship and in special services. Besides playing their own handbell pieces, the Jubilation Ringers accompany the choir on anthems, present small bell ensemble music several times a year, and participate in the Ponca City Handbell Festival. They practice Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. Photo Gallery
The Celebration Ringers is our youth bell choir consisting of Junior and Senior High youth. They play monthly during worship and at special services. Photo Gallery

We celebrate our Musicians and their dedication twice during the year as a whole group. Our Music Appreciation Dinner in the spring acknowledges their hard work. At this dinner we celebrate with our graduating seniors by presenting them with a hymn book and our 5th graders going into 6th we honor them with their choir stole that represents the years they have sung.
